Seahawks trounce Vikings, climb into NFC West tie

The Seattle Seahawks’ strong defense crushed the struggling Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, winning 26–0.

Why it matters: This was the Seahawks’ first shutout since they beat the Chicago Bears in 2015, according to the Associated Press.

What happened: Sam Darnold and the rest of Seattle’s offense didn’t do much, but they didn’t need to. The defense did enough to secure another win and keep the team tied with the Rams for first place in the NFC West.

😭 Editor’s note: I’ve been a Vikings fan for a long time, and watching them fall apart is tough. We really miss Darnold.

And yes… I still haven’t gotten over the Seahawks beating the Vikings in the freezing 2016 playoff game, when kicker Blair Walsh missed a 27-yard field goal with only 26 seconds left.
